Silver Buttons Lesson 13
Repetition is key to helping the brain master skills and concepts. Continue to listen to this semester’s music and use the materials at home to strengthen your child’s newly acquired musical skills, even after our semester ends. The familiarity (while perhaps monotonous to you) is comfortable to children and allows them to solidify their current musical knowledge.
Rhyming is an important phonological awareness skill, and traditional nursery rhymes and chants are a great way to introduce it. By repeating nursery rhymes with your young child, you help them hear the rhythm and expression of oral language and recognize that many words share common sounds, laying a foundation for further literacy skills.
Optional home fun activity: Make the Jack and Jill Puppets on page 35 of your workbook
(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
