Orange Roots Lesson 9

Thank parents for attending today! We learned new songs, reviewed new-ish key signatures, and learned the new terms of introduction, bridge and coda. Don’t forget to have your child practice their compositions I sent home last week because Lesson 11 (March 28th) is our private lesson where we will polish those off.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS (please read to the end of this section)

Today is the official start of SPIRIT WEEK! Briefly, this is a chance for us to celebrate accomplishment and share our love of Let’s Play Music with the world! This is fun and is a HUGE help to me in building my studio. Here are the details:

PRIZES: I have assembled a large number of musical giveaways up to $40 in value. Children will earn points by completing certain tasks.

1) Register for next semester using this google form if you haven’t already. Registration opened Mar. 1st. If you have any younger kiddos (or friends) who would like to start Let’s Play Music or Sound Beginnings in my Fall classes, please get them registered ASAP because the “good” class times fill up quickly. (If you know who you’re going to for private lessons if you’re not moving on to Bridge, let me know – that counts too!)

2) Share a pic from class on social media #JudieMusic #SoundBeginnings #LetsPlayMusic #weloveLPM2024 (send me a screen shot for credit)

3) Wear a LPM t-shirt to school and class.

4) Share a pic of your kiddo practicing LPM at home! #JudieMusic #SoundBeginnings #LetsPlayMusic #weloveLPM2024 (send me a screen shot for credit)

5) Share a review on my business google page. (send me a screen shot for credit)

BONUS: Host a yard sign in your front yard for the month for 30 points!

**When posting on social media, be sure to use the hashtags exactly as listed above so you are entered in my raffle. Also, you can use one of their images below to add to your post:

Bagatelle Bridges
This repertoire piece has all the elements that we’ve learned about in our puppet shows! It has an introduction, a CODA (special ending) and it has 2 BRIDGES. We will actually learn the theme in C Major and then we will get to show off our transposing skills to play it in F and G.

G Major Scale
This is the last of the major scales we will learn during our time in Let’s Play Music. All of our scales have taught us finger technique and strength, but also allowed us to understand key signatures and scale compositions. Just as our Magic Keys Song will tell us, Do is G because the F# is a ti– so don’t forget to play that F# on ti!!!

Even Disney’s Aristocats know how important it is to practice their scales (and arpeggios)!

Also, we have attached mini puppets for our Circus Puppet Show for fun!

For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
