Silver Buttons Lesson 8
ANNOUNCEMENT: This week is Spirit Week, with lots of fun prizes and games available. Please click here to read all the details. Kids will have another chance to spin at our next class, so spins can be earned over spring break.
March 13-17th is SPRING BREAK, so no class.
Sound Beginnings builds its curriculum on seven crucial elements of a young child’s development: Literacy and Kindergarten Skills, Rhythm and Beat, Vocal and Pitch Development, Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Classical Music Experience and Parent Bonding. These elements provide a rich foundation for further music study, school, and life.
Color and shape are two of the most noticeable attributes of the world around us (with size being the third). Children begin to make a connection between familiar objects and their shape at a very early age. When exploring different shapes, children are developing a basic cognitive process: the observation of same and different. This process will be further developed and used to observe, compare and discuss everything they encounter in their lifetime.
Optional home fun activity: Cut out the buttons on page 31 in your workbook and sort them on page 22
(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
