Orange Roots Lesson 8
We learned the A minor scale and cadence — here’s a demo video if help is needed. It is important to learn this skill to be successful in our Russian Sailor’s Dance! 😉
Parents attend next week! Today your student was sent home with their LPM t-shirt to be worn next week to school and music class AND at the recital in May.
Showtime for New World Symphony this week! When practicing, record your child playing this song and send it to me via Marco Polo so I can record their progress. Last week almost everyone submitted a showtime song! Thank you!! 😬
March is a BIG MONTH! It is our Spirit Month so:
-Registration starts March 1st
-SPRING BREAK is March 17-23rd.
-Next week your kiddos will have opportunities to earn tickets to win really great prizes, so keep an eye out on how you can help them!
Russian Sailor Dance
This song is ALWAYS a student favorite. Another great repertoire piece that reinforces ABA form, improvisations, and provides a study in legato and staccato themes. But it’s the the accelerando at the end that will have your student BEGGING to practice it all the time!
If your kiddo won’t be taking Bridge with me next year, have you already found a private teacher for when your student graduates from Let’s Play Music? It is best if you can meet in person with the teacher before the summer break to help the new teacher get to know your child’s progress while its still fresh. Here is a great post on our Let’s Play Music Blog with tips on how to interview and what to look for in a private teacher.

For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
