Black Spiders Lesson 2
I LOVE seeing your kids sing or say the words in class! Have you noticed your child replicating a class activity or song at home? Wonderful! Reinforce his/her learning by participating in the activity with them (sing along, play the game, etc.)
What is solfege?
This semester we will be learning solfeggio hand signs (pg. 6 of your student workbook). Solfege also appears in “Major Scale Descending” and “Let’s Say Goodbye. In music solfege, or solfeggio is a method used to teach pitch and sight singing. Solfege is taught at every level of music education in some countries, from primary through graduate level university study. Singing melodies in solfege helps the student develop inner hearing, musical expressiveness, and a feeling for phrasing. Read more on our Making Musicians blog about the history and usefulness of this musical superpower!

For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
