Black Spiders Lesson 4
It is so fun to see these little ones start to participate in class! Remember, don’t force (or bribe) participation. Your child will participate when he or she feels comfortable. Children learn so much from watching others and listening!
Reminder: if you pay monthly, tuition is due this week.
Why is the SOL-MI interval so important?
The SOL-MI interval plays a vital role in a child’s singing voice. This interval, being three half steps apart, is a minor third, though its tonality is major since it is a part of the major scale. It is one of the easiest intervals for a young child to imitate, recognize, and sing in-tune. Sound Beginnings contains SOL-MI songs to allow children to have successful singing experiences, as they develop in-tune singing voices. Our SOL-MI songs this semester are “Snail Snail”, “Cobbler Cobbler” and “Bee Bee Bumblebee”.

Experience and practice keeping a steady beat at home!Sing with your child and encourage them to tap to the beat. Try tapping the beat of the song on their back or feet. Did you know learning to keep a beat helps with speech, reading, and more?
For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
