Remember, if you have chosen to complete a “Home Fun Activity,” remember to keep the puppet, etc. in the back of your student workbook so that your child can use it in class.  We won’t use them every week, but when we do, your child will be thrilled to have their own prop!

What is relative pitch?

Relative pitch is the ability to sing a pitch correctly from “thin air”. It’s similar to perfect pitch, except that the ability is developed rather than innate. Older children and adults can develop relative pitch, but it takes far longer to do so. At this young age, relative pitch can develop as quickly as 6 months to 3 years! In Sound Beginnings we use Echo Edie, scales and solfeggio to prepare students for the pitch training they will receive in the Let’s Play Music program.
