Gold Stars Lesson 13
On Lesson 15 we will celebrate the end of the semester with “Instrument Day”. Each family in class will have a chance to share an instrument or vocal talent if they would like to. Performing is optional and you are welcome to just come and enjoy, but we would love to hear from you or your child!
If you have a family member or friend who plays an instrument, we would love for you to invite them to attend. (It would be extra fun if you know someone who plays one of the instruments we have listened to this semester, or if you can invite someone to play a song from our CD. However we are interested in hearing from all musicians, no matter what!)
Sound Beginnings kiddos who are 2 years or older are welcome to participate in the recital on May 8th at 6:00PM. It will be short, and they will be first. Attendance will be limited – but extended family can join digitally through a zoom link that will be provided. Sound Beginnings kiddos will be singing their ABC song and Skinnamarink. Please work on the words and signs for “I Love You”.
The Chinese Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is one of the most important traditional events in Chinese culture. It’s origins are rooted in different myths involving a heroine named Chang’e who lives on the moon. Popular activities during the Moon Festival include getting together to watch the full moon, eating moon cakes and singing moon poems.
Optional home fun activity: Color the “Moon Festival Dance” page on page 17 in the workbook.
(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
For my convenience, I have preloaded content for the whole semester. I will update each future post with specific time-sensitive info before I send the link each week. If you choose to read ahead you might see details that don’t apply to your child’s class. For this reason I do not recommend reading ahead. Thank you!
