Sound Beginnings recognizes the importance of imaginative play and includes songs and activities that encourage children to explore their imagination. Imaginative play is engaging to children, encourages healthy cognitive functions, and allows for exploration of inner emotional responses.

Children introduced to diverse cultures at a young age acquire stronger social skills and are more receptive to those who speak a different language. They tend to feel at ease with diverse groups of friends and are more confident about the world around them. It may even make them more adventurous in trying new foods.

Optional home fun activity: Make the Trip to China cutouts on page. 29 of your workbook
(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
